Confession of A Not It Girl by Melissa Kantor: Review

Title:Confessions of a Not It Girl

Author: Melissa Kantor

My Rating: 2 out of 5 stars

First Copyright Date: May 1st 2006

Publisher:  Disney-Hyperion

Short Summary: Jan Miller is a senior in high school who’s convinced she is destined to lead the world’s least fabulous life. Her college application deadlines are looming and her French homework is taunting her. And she never seems to say the right thing around guys, unlike her best It Girl friend who knows the moves and lines to catch an older, adorable, sophisticated boyfriend. But Jan’s about to learn that in life and romance, being a Not It Girl has some major rewards.

So what did I just read? It felt like I read a fifth grade book when its meant to be obviously for young adults. Confessions of a Not It Girl was a very confusing book. I mean I don’t even KNOW what the hell her confessions were. Really. And the book was a stupid twister of words and it was childish. I mean it felt like reading some little teenager story that had no sense at all. Jan was such a messed up girl who whined a lot and just didn’t know what to do. And the little romance parts do not even deserve to be called romance parts. More like elementary romance where the boy is to shy to ask the girl out and all that crap. I don’t even know why i wasted my time reading this. And don’t even get me started on the ending.

What kind of ending was that????!!!!

So this is how I felt reading the book:

Reading a new book. Really happy 😀 I mean the summary sounds really interesting and the cover looks cute:

Halfway through the book:

I am really annoyed right now! Seriously.

Ok. If anybody sees me and asks me what i am reading this is the stare I will give them.

More Through the book:
I am not sure I am getting the book but lets give it a second chance

Laughing at the stupidity there is!

Are you serious??? Ok is this a young adult book or middle grade book?

Ok that’s it I give Up!! I can’t anymore. The book is definitely funny and has humor but the rest is just a twister of words and there is not a even a confession at all. The ending was horrible. It just ended really quick with no details or life whatsoever. I did not LIKE the ending. I am serious.

So in the end all I can say is: WHY??( I think you know what I Mean.)

And this book is a big fat NO!

  1. 🙂 I couldn’t stop smiling as I read this post. I must say I probably won’t ever pick up this book now that I’ve seen how much it annoyed you. I hate it when you reach for a tempting young adult novel and end up short with a MG or children’s. I just read The Selection (If you haven’t read it yet you can take a glance at my blog and see if its interesting), but I loved it!
My favorite part about your post was your little movie clips with captions. Those cracked me up!
Better luck on your choice next time,
    A. Willow

    • Well I laughed too a lot :D. I do agree with you. I was very excited to read this book. The beginning was very good but then like I mentioned as it went half way through it meh, the murh and then :(. I did not like it at all. Yeah, i always add gifs to my reviews in some way to make the review more alive. Thanks! And thank you for liking my review. I will check out your blog. And thank you for stopping by ;).
